Whistler Public Art Commission(23/12/2008)James Smith has won a sculpture competition held by The Resort Municipality of Whistler British Columbia to create three sculptures. The three larger than life size ravens are sculpted from recycled materials and are to be sited on the walking trail through town in April 2009. World Health Organization Design Competition Shortlist(23/12/2008)Mr. Smith’s design proposal has been short listed in a competition held by the World Health Organization. The sculpture is to be installed in Geneva, Switzerland at the World Health Organization headquarters. The sculpture is being commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the global eradication of smallpox and to create worldwide recognition of this unprecedented public health achievement. |
